In the financial report, Vice President of Administrative Services Maderia Ellison stated, “This is the first year that we have received additional rural funding. The amount we received was $889,200 as part of state appropriations. We received that after our budget was approved. A preliminary decision was made to hold on to those funds until we knew what was happening with Cholla.”

With Cholla Power Plant in Joseph City continuing operation awhile longer the college has chosen to move forward with spending those funds this year on new programs and other activities. “I will be modifying our budget, not increasing the budget, just properly reflecting the new amount. I will be moving line items so that we get back to the same $28 million budget. I will be bringing a revised budget before the board next month,” stated Ellison.
