The Navajo Nation Presidential Special Primary Election has been postponed until June 2 and the general election until Aug. 4. As a result, the Nation Supreme Court ruled that current President Ben Shelly will continue in his position until the outcome of that election is determined. The 17 candidates who were contenders in the 2014 primary election can reapply as candidates for president in the June election. The two candidates with the highest votes will proceed to the general election.
