Naomi Johnson is the most recent Navajo County Drug Court graduate. Johnson decided to complete the program and worked very hard to do so. Navajo County Superior Court Judge Dale Nielson presided over the ceremony and past Drug Court graduate Larry Duran was the guest speaker. Naomi was dedicated to the program and worked very hard to get where she is today: alcohol and drug free. Those enrolled in the program undergo intensive oversite, reporting weekly to their probation officer, turn in a weekly schedule, seek employment, educational opportunities and complete 360 hours of community service. The Drug Court Program is an intensive recovery program designed to assist those who want to get off of alcohol and drugs. Drug Court offers many types of assistance including but not limited to counseling, drug and alcohol treatment and incentives. Drug Court participants are on probation but have more drug screens and contacts both scheduled and random than other types of probation. Drug Court participants get a unique chance to learn how to change their behaviors in an effort to remain drug and alcohol free. For more information concerning Drug Court feel free to contact Tonya Reed, Drug Court Coordinator, at (928) 313-0033.
