It is with the heaviest of hearts and cherished memories that we share the passing of our beautiful daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. Martha (Marty) O’Dell. Marty left this world surrounded by her family at Abrozo Hospital in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 16.
Marty was born to Gail and Janice Palmer in Phoenix in 1961. Moving many times throughout her childhood until they eventually settled in Joseph City, where she met her soon-to-be best friend, husband and lifelong partner Michael O’Dell. They soon had three children, Eric, Brenda and Aaron O’Dell. They had four treasured grandchildren, Andrew, Connor, Chloe and Jessica.
Marty was a beautiful light that could brighten up any room. She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed the holidays. She had a knack for baking and there wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. She was at home in nature and loved the great outdoors. She was a student at heart and loved to learn and pass on knowledge. She was very kind, soft-spoken, and always had an answer to any question, or knew how to solve any problem no matter how big or small.
She will be dearly missed by her loved ones who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator now.
Marty is survived by her parents, Gail and Janice Palmer; sister, Janna Palmer; children, Eric, Brenda and Aaron.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Michael O’Dell.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be remembered. Marty’s funeral service will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, at Best Funeral Service at 501 E. Dunlap Ave. in Phoenix.
