The Navajo County Board of Supervisors met last week and approved the adoptions of a resolution regarding the Navajo County Design & Construction Standards & Specifications Manual. The manual will provide standards, specifications and guidelines that complement and support the County ordinances and regulations.
According to information provided by the county, the manual is a comprehensive guide for designing and constructing public roadways, infrastructure, and development. It was noted that this milestone reflects the county’s commitment to fostering safe, high-quality development and making Navajo County a great place to do business.
The manual provides developers, contractors, and engineering consultants with clear, upfront expectations and technical requirements. It also ensures consistency and efficiency during the planning, design, and construction phases while promoting safety in project development.
“Navajo County is dedicated to creating an environment where businesses and communities can thrive,” said Navajo County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jason Whiting. “By adopting this manual, we are not only setting a clear path for developers but also ensuring that safety, quality, and transparency remain at the forefront of every project.”
The manual addresses key areas such as land division, roadway design, traffic engineering, environmental analysis and utility management. It also includes detailed standards for grading and sediment control, landscape and irrigation, and right-of-way access management.
