Both Lobo soccer teams continued to stay highly ranked in the overall rankings for fall soccer. The unbeaten boys team was idle last week but earned shutout wins over Payson and Chino Valley the week prior. This week, they return to action with a trip to face Winslow on Monday, followed by a Wednesday match at Round Valley. With both opponents currently ranked outside the top 20, Snowflake should easily keep its unbeaten streak intact.
The Lady Lobos, also ranked second this week with a 7-1 overall record, earned two of those wins last week. Playing in Holbrook on Monday, they started slowly through the first five or so minutes, but once they got rolling, they piled up 8 first-half goals against the Roadrunners, whom they eventually defeated 9-0.
Hosting Winslow on Wednesday, they posted an identical score against the Bulldogs.
This week, Snowflake will see Winslow again on Monday, then face a tougher test in Blue Ridge on Wednesday against the fifth-ranked Yellowjackets. Next Tuesday, they will host that same Blue Ridge squad, before finishing out the regular season the following week.
