Obit Prine Lindell

Lindell David “Dave” Prine, 72, was born on July 30, 1945, in Tulare, Calif., and entered the gates of heaven on Jan. 17, 2018, at his home in Winslow surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the First Baptist Church, located at 411 N. Warren Ave. in Winslow. Dave was the youngest of five children born to Harlos and Idabell Prine, living in Texas briefly as a child, but growing up in California. He started driving a semi at the age of 21 and met the love of his life at 22, while he stopped to eat at A&W in Blyth, Calif. In September of 1967 after a six day courtship and only seeing her three times, Dave convinced Sheila to jump in his semi and marry him on Sept. 27, 1967. By 1972 they had four children and their family was complete. He drove semis and had other jobs before opening his first shop in Lupton in 1977. By 1982, he permanently moved his family back to Winslow and opened his own business here. He was very fortunate to have a great work ethic as well as a sharp business mind as the shop he started is still open today. Dave was a great mechanic and an expert welder who was willing and eager to teach anyone who was interested how to weld. He was well known for his jokes and funny stories and was loved by all that knew him. He enjoyed watching movies as a family and absolutely loved playing dominos with anyone who was willing to “play some bones.” He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila; his four children, Glen, Shawna, Tiger and David; 10 grandchildren, Chance, Matthew, Dakota, Aspen, Angus, Rhianon, Ariel, Levi, Hazel and Sterling; six great grandchildren, Jaycob, Nevaeh, Robert, Malaya, Aviana and Zane; and sister-in-laws, Loretta Prine, Janet Stewart, Frances Ferrell and Floretta Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harlos and Idabell Prine; brother, Jerry Prine; and sisters, Wilma Garrison and Kitty Smith.
