He graduated from Winslow High School in 1969. He was a very active member in the 69 Club and very proud of his many “stop signs.” After high school, Lane attended Arizona Western College. Lane hired out with the Atchison Topeka Santa Fe Railway on Aug. 15, 1970. He was an active member of the Winslow Falcons Skydiving team and had 144 registered jumps. Charlene and Lane were married for 44 years with five children and 12 grandchildren. Lane was a member of the Elks, BLE, Masonic Lodge, York Rite, El Zaribah Shrine Club; he was a Little League coach, gun shop owner, avid bowler and was an NRA member. One night, while on a work train with Anthony Duran, the two came up with the idea of the Winslow Just Cruisin’ Car Club. During his time with the club, Lane proudly displayed many hot rods, to include his prized 1934 Ford Coupe! Lane retired from the railroad after 40 plus years. In his retirement years he enjoyed living in Phoenix, attending Diamondbacks games, car shows, eBay shopping, museums, lounging by his pool and spending time with his family. He loved to cook, collect guns, knights in armor, skulls, Diamondbacks autographs and memorabilia. Lane is survived by his wife, Charlene Robertson; mother, Lenore Robertson; children Shane (Rebecca) Robertson, Sharon (Nick) Mathis, Brent (Erin) Robertson, Christopher (Denita) Robertson and Melissa (Everett) Olson; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Lynn (Kris) Robertson, Robbie (Bonnie) Robertson; sister, Barbara (Virgil) Satathite; and his many nieces and nephews.
