Snowflake hit a tough spot in their schedule last week, dropping two of the three games they played. They fell at Winslow on Tuesday, picked up a close win over Payson on Thursday, and then were soundly beaten by Valley Christian on Friday.

Tuesday’s region game at seventh-ranked Winslow saw the Bulldogs keep Snowflake’s bats quiet, with the Lobos coming up with just 6 hits in the game. They were blanked on the scoreboard until the top of the seventh, where they scored their only 2 runs. Winslow’s big inning was the third, where they scored 5 runs.

Kloe Burden went 2 for 3. Brynlee Bryant went 2 for 4. Kashlynn Cantrell was 1 for 3, as was Graycee Skousen.

Cantrell worked all six innings in the circle, where she gave up 8 runs, on 9 hits with 8 strikeouts and walked two batters.

Hosting former east region foe, Payson on Thursday. Snowflake managed single runs in the first two innings, but neither team scored the rest of the way in the defensive pitchers dual, ending with Snowflake on top 2-0 over the 14th ranked Longhorns.

Cantrell limited the Longhorns to just 3 hits. She finished with 13 strikeouts and walked three batters.

Snowflake managed five hits, led by Cantrel, who went 1 for 4 with a double. Kinslee Claridge went 1 for 3, Burden 1 for 2, Skousen 1 for 2 and Schneider 1 for 2.

Taking on 10th-ranked Valley Christian on Friday, the Lobos again struggled at the plate, scoring their only run in the fourth inning of an 11-1 five inning loss.

Snowflake had just four hits. Skousen went 1 for 2 with a solo home run. Cantrell went 1 for 2 with a double. Brooklynn Lovingood was 1 for 2 and Brynlee Bryant went 1 for 3.
