The Lady Bulldogs volleyball team looks different than they have in the last several seasons, with most of their height graduating last season, so with a younger and smaller team this year they took the court to host the Chinle Lady Wildcats in the first game of the season on Aug. 23.
In the first set both teams got rid of their first game jitters by trading points but soon the Lady Bulldogs would enjoy a double-digit lead to take the set 25 to 12.
In the second set the Lady Wildcats would lead until sophomore Lady Bulldog Tatum Henling put the Lady Bulldogs in the lead with seven straight serves. Even with the Lady Wildcats battling back, the Lady Bulldogs would get the set 25 to 20.
In the third and final set the lead would go back and forth between both teams with the Lady Bulldogs taking the lead to win the set and match 25 to 19.
Winslow had 18 aces led by Jaci Gonnie and Henling each with four, 24 assists led by Henling with 15, 26 kills led by Gonnie with 10, 34 digs led by Jauslyn Nells with 12.
