On Jan. 23, the Winslow Lady Bulldogs traveled to Whiteriver to take on the Lady Falcons of Alchesay in a game that could best be described two different halves. In the first half the game would be close but the Lady Bulldogs would find their rhythm. In the second half it would be the Lady Falcons who would hit the ground running and control the game.
In the first quarter the Falcons would outscore the Bulldogs by a bucket, 13-11. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would outshoot the Falcons 18-10, for a halftime score of Alchesay 23, Winslow 28.
In the third quarter the Falcons would shoot out the lights, scoring 25 and holding the Bulldogs to just 5 points. In the fourth quarter the Falcons would score 11 points to the Bulldogs 5 for a final score of Alchesay 63, Winslow 39.
Winslow had one player in double figures: Kaitlyn Belone with 12 points. Winslow was 12 of 19 from the line.
With the end of the regular season quickly approaching the Lady Bulldogs will host the Lady Falcons on Jan. 30, and for Senior Night they will host the Lady Yellowjackets of Blue Ridge on Feb. 2.
