On March 31, the Winslow Lady Bulldogs traveled to Ganado to take on the Lady Hornets in a game that would go just five innings.
In the top of the first the Lady Bulldogs would score 5 runs, starting with Rylie Sharp’s 2 RBI double, Kyah Wilcox’s RBI double and then with 2 outs, Angela Salazar would steal third and then score on a passed ball and Cassius Tsosie would score on a fielder’s choice. In the bottom of the first, the Lady Hornets would get 1 run with 2 outs on a Shelby Lee RBI single.
In the top of the second the Lady Bulldogs would score 4 runs, with a Wilcox 2 RBI double, a Salazar RBI double and a Livia Palfy RBI single.
In the bottom of the third the Lady Hornets would score 4 runs with the first 2 runs coming home on an error, then an Alaiya Begay 2 RBI single.
In the top of the fourth the Lady Bulldogs, with two outs, would score 5 runs starting with a Kendra Ybarra RBI single then a 3-run home run by Ara Leonard and RBI double by Wilcox.
In the top of the fifth the Lady Bulldogs again with 2 outs would score 9 runs led by an Ybarra RBI single, Emily Wilbanks would score on a passed ball, Leonard a RBI single and Sharp a 2-run home run, a Salazar RBI double, Kameron Keyonnie RBI double, Tsosie RBI single and Gigi Vasquez RBI single.
In the bottom of the fifth the Lady Hornets would get their final run of the game on a Lee solo home run. Making the final score of Winslow 23 and Ganado 6.
