Kyle L. Harmon passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015, in Winslow. Services were held July 18 at the Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Winslow.

He was born Oct. 23, 1987, in St. Charles, Mo., to Leonard Harmon and Patricia Harmon-Ermey.

Kyle was a great, fun loving and intelligent person with a great sense of humor. He believed that the funniest person to laugh at is yourself.

During his time with us, he taught himself how to play the guitar and became an avid guitarist. He was such a great guitarist that one day he even tuned his cousin’s guitar she got for Christmas by ear. Along with his love for music he had many other hobbies that he loved, and I believe reading whatever he could get his hands on was number one. He was a writer of music, poems and short stories. He had such a thirst for knowledge and with his reading he was able to quench that thirst, but never make it go away.

Kyle also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially kittens, but none were more special than his dogs. He would sit on the front porch and spend hours making sure they were brushed and taken care of.

He enjoyed cooking, and loved experimenting with different flavors.

We are going to miss the way Kyle would always go out of his way to help any person in need, whether it be friends or strangers.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Survivors include his father, Leonard Harmon; his mother, Patricia Harmon-Ermey; his sister, Alexia Carr; two brothers, Kendrick Thompson and Logan Hart; and his niece, Sasmin Carr.

In lieu of flowers or cards, the family has set up an account at Wells Fargo in Kyle Harmon’s name, Account No. 1630741690, Routing No. 122105278, to cover final expenses.

Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
