Josephine “Josie” Sanchez Garcia was born on Sept. 18 1941, in Williams and passed away on June 19, 2019, in Flagstaff.

Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, both at Madre De Dios Catholic Church in Winslow. Interment will follow at Desert View Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Steve) Skaggs, Ramona Bartow, Diana Garcia, Teresa (John) Palacios, Henry (Betty) Garcia, Karen Garcia, Susan Gonzales, Nancy Garcia, Sharon (Carlos) Ledezma and Lorraine (Brian) Cox; 52 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Helen Cordova and Jenny Quiarte; brother Jimmy Sanchez; and many, many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Waco” Garcia; son, Jeffery Garcia; grandchildren, Jennifer Romero, Ricky Cundiff, Michael Garcia and Justin Garcia; her parents, Joe and Aurora Sanchez; and brother, Johnny Sanchez.
