Our amazing father and family patriarch, Jerald Winston Scorse, peacefully left this life to join his ancestors and our Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Monday, Nov. 30, 2015. Jerald was comfortably surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Merriam, Kan. He was born July 9, 1943, in the town of Abilene, Texas, to Winston Churchill Scorse and Aleen Hatch Scorse. Jerald married Shirley Ann Busby on June 11, 1965, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Together they raised six children, Rosanne, Michelle, Scott, Sherri, Traci and Jamie. Jerald’s whole life was dedicated to the loving care of his family. He worked hard to provide and served in many positions in the banking industry. He was a wonderful example to his family of what a husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend should be. He was always happy to see you and greeted everyone with a firm handshake or hug accompanied with a huge smile. A man of unblemished character, he quietly and willingly served The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints wherever and whenever called, including missionary work in London, England, and as bishop in Woodruff. He showed unconditional love to all he knew, and was extremely unselfish with his time and possessions. Happily married 50 years, Jerald is survived by his sweet wife, Shirley Ann Busby; and his six children, Rosanne and Martin Fisher, Michelle and Eric Moore, Scott and Alisa Scorse, Sherri and Tom Bundy, Traci and Will Arnett, and Jamie and Carey Vincent. His posterity numbers 38 at this time, and includes 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
