One collision was investigated by Holbrook police officers during the period of Oct. 8-14, according to dispatcher reports.
At 1:09 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, a two-vehicle, non-injury collision occurred on Navajo Blvd. at Crest View Drive. The vehicles involved were a silver 2007 Ford F-150 truck driven by Jacob Nevarez, 26, of Rio Rancho, N.M., with a trailer in tow and three passengers ages 7 and 4 years old, and a 6-month-old and a white 2020 Acura RDX SUV driven by Kathleen Clark, 79, of Tucson. According to the report, Nevarez was at the intersection on Navajo Blvd. and Crest View Drive coming off the interstate. He was in the middle of the intersection when a white SUV traveling south on Navajo Blvd. ran into the side of his trailer. Clark stated she was distracted by her GPS and did not see the vehicle in time to avoid the collision. Clark was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.
