Holbrook High School is proud to announce its production of Tuck Everlasting: The Musical for four performances at 7 p.m. beginning today (Wednesday) through Saturday, at the George Gardner Performing Arts Center on the Holbrook High School campus.
Based on the classic novel by Natalie Babbitt, Tuck Everlasting follows the story of 11-year-old Winnie Foster, who longs for adventure beyond her front yard. When she crosses paths with the Tuck family and discovers their secret to eternal life, she must protect their extraordinary secret from a sinister stranger and choose her own path: return to her ordinary life or join the Tucks on their infinite journey.
Director Kyle Gardner believes this specific show was the right choice for this year’s group of talented performers. “Every year, I search for the perfect show to challenge and inspire our students and this cast has completely risen to the occasion. The central theme of Tuck Everlasting—that ‘you don’t have to live forever; you just have to live’—is beautiful and timeless. I want our audience to leave inspired, but my greatest hope is that our students embrace this mindset as they begin their own life journeys,” he stated.
The production features a stellar cast of local students, including: Jaycee Greer as Winnie Foster, Everett Pack as Jesse Tuck, Andon Brimhall as Miles Tuck, Macy Gardner as Mae Tuck, Joey Meeks as Angus Tuck, Rigdon Fish as The Man in the Yellow Suit, Chase Brewer as Hugo, Josh LeSeuer as Constable Joe, Merhetta Sullivan as Betsy Foster and Maddie Hatch as Nana.
Bringing a musical of this scale to the stage requires immense effort behind the scenes as well. “Big thanks to all those in the community who have helped make this musical come to life,” Gardner added. “It truly takes a village, and we have a great village here in Holbrook.”
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. To avoid lines at the door, community members are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets online via GoFan. https://gofan.co/app/school/AZ21892.
