The iconic Harvey Girls will be doing a cultural demonstration at the Painted Desert Inn in the Petrified Forest from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25.

The ladies will be present to answer questions and share their stories of a bygone era while displaying some of the historic service ware of their trade. Based in nearby Winslow, the Harvey Girls were an integral part of the history of the American West and particularly the historic Painted Desert Inn.

Because the inn is located within the park boundaries, the standard fees will apply: $20 per vehicle; $15 per motorcycle; and $10 per bicycle.

Active duty military and their dependents are free with the “America the Beautiful” Active Military Pass, which can be obtained at federal recreation sites, including the Petrified Forest, by showing a Common Access card or military identification.
