On June 14, a Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a stop for civil traffic violations on Interstate 40 at milepost 301, east of Holbrook near Sun Valley.
During the traffic stop, the deputy recognized signs of criminal activity leading to a probable cause search. The search revealed over 43,550 suspected M30 fentanyl pills, with an estimated street value of nearly $217,800.
Peter Bela Voltig, 60, of New Mexico was arrested for transportation of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Voltig was booked into Navajo County Jail.
