Parents or guardians of seniors at Winslow High School are invited to come find out if their child qualifies to receive more than $5,700 annually for college. Join the WHS counselors and financial aid experts from the Northern Arizona College Resource Center of Flagstaff and Northland Pioneer College for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Night from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, in room 110 of the school. These experts will assist students and parents in filling out the FAFSA, the mandatory online form used to qualify students for a Pell Grant, and the form required by universities, community colleges and technical schools to help award scholarships and other financial aid. Bring W-2 forms or other income documentation. According to school officials, only 41 percent of all seniors in the state complete the FAFSA, ranking Arizona 49th in the nation in FAFSA completions. WHS is ahead of the curve with 50 percent completed last year. For more information or additional assistance in completing the FAFSA, please contact the WHS counseling office at (928) 288-8282 and visit the school’s website at winslowhigh.az.wusdh.schoolinsites.com for more information on scholarships and financial aid.
