Dorothy Geraldine Chambers Parsons Dorothy Geraldine “Jerry” Chambers Parsons was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Salem, Mo. She passed away peacefully on Dec. 17, 2021, at the age of 99. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the Winslow Funeral Home, located at 1505 W. 3rd St. in Winslow. A viewing will be held after the service. Interment will follow in Desert View Cemetery. The Chambers family moved to Winslow in 1937. She was the first-born daughter of Oscar and Dorothy Chambers. She has three siblings, Marvin “Soup,” Lillian (Pollack) and Linda (Lazzarini). She married Elmer E. “Mike” Parsons in 1940, and they were together until Mike’s death in 2007. They had five children, Calvin, Eileen (Sullivan), Barbara (Tomes), Diana (Krueger), and Debbie (Williams). She was preceded in death by Mike, Calvin, Barbar, and her brother, Soup. She is survived by her daughters, Eileen, Diana and Debbie; her siblings, Lillian and Linda; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a humble and dedicated wife and mother. She was known in Winslow as a great bowler. She and Mike were on many bowling leagues throughout the years and they enjoyed socializing with Winslow residents in that way. They also loved traveling, fishing, camping and playing cards. She will be missed by many. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow handled the arrangements.
