Obit W Hancock Dale

Dale George Hancock Dale George Hancock, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2020, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on July 27, 1934, in Winslow, to George Eugene Hancock and Edera Pearl Gibbons Hancock and lived in Winslow all his life. Dale met and married Linda Sue White in 1956. He served his country in the Army and served his Heavenly Father on two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nauvoo, Ill. He was a master craftsman and carpenter and his handiwork can be seen all over Winslow. Dale believed in doing a job well or not doing it at all. Dale coached Little League, taught hunter’s safety classes and was a Scout Master in the Boy Scouts of America. Under his care, 49 boys earned their Eagle Scout award. He loved to camp, hunt, fish and have weenie roasts in the back yard with his children and grandchildren. Dale and Sue were partners in everything they did from running their business to raising their family. Their legacy is the family they taught to work hard, be honest, serve others and love their Heavenly Father. He was a true patriot who loved his country. Dale is survived by Sue, his wife of 63 years; his children, Gene (Diane) Hancock, Terri (Blake) Miller, Brian (Kim) Hancock, Jeff (Cory) Hancock, and Sheila Peterson.
