It’s breast cancer and domestic violence awareness month and the staff at North Country HealthCare put their creative talents to work in making “artsy bras.” Staff members who contributed to the project include (left to right) Electronic Health Records technician Yvette Ward, Certified Medical Assistant Melinda Spean-Austin, Domestic Violence Service Advocate Missy Daniels, Patient Relations representative Erin Yellowhair and Clinic Manager Sirena Tracas.
October is Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness month and North Country HealthCare staff members are letting people know that they are there to help.
The staff created “artsy bras” to decorate the waiting area to bring a lighthearted approach to a very important exam.
“We offer mammogram referrals here and they are available to everyone, even those who have low incomes and no insurance,” said Clinic Manager Sirena Tracas.
There are also services available for people who may be living with domestic violence.
“We provide information on what steps can be taken and help facilitate the process to get them on the right path,” explained Missy Daniels, the domestic violence service advocate whose office is at the clinic.
