Life in rural Arizona has its share of challenges, but one thing that never changes is how we come together when it matters most. Neighbors helping neighbors is at the heart of who we are, and this fall, there are two great opportunities to do just that.
This week, Northland Pioneer College will hold its annual Empty Bowls soup luncheon. With a simple meal of soup and bread, the event raises funds to fight hunger and support the Survive-to-Thrive initiative. It’s a reminder that even small acts—like sharing a meal—can make a big difference when we do them together.
On Oct. 3, the Navajo County Family Advocacy Center will host Night Golf in Snowflake. It’s a fun twist on the game, but more importantly, every dollar raised will go toward helping children in Navajo and Apache counties who have faced abuse, neglect, trafficking, domestic violence and other hardships no child should ever endure. By joining in, you’re helping give those children hope and healing.
These events are more than fundraisers; they are reflections of our community spirit. All they need to succeed is us—showing up, lending a hand, and proving once again that when we stand together, there’s nothing we can’t overcome.
