On Aug. 3, detectives with the Navajo County Major Crimes Apprehension Team received information of a subject in Navajo County who was sending sexually explicit material, involving a minor, over the internet. MCAT Detectives and agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted an extensive and thorough investigation that resulted in search warrants being served, revealing numerous items of evidence. As a result of this evidence, Joshuah Cruz Eberhart, 24, of Clay Springs, was arrested for sexual exploitation of a minor and booked into the Navajo County Jail. On Aug. 22, the Navajo County Grand Jury issued 11 indictments of sexual exploitation of a minor in this case. Eberhart is currently being held on a $50,000 cash-only for the first charge and a $2,500 secured bond for the other 10 counts. Sheriff David M. Clouse stated, “The partnership between the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations was critical to the successful investigation, charging, and removal of this child predator in our community.”
