City of Winslow Human Resources Director David Coolidge presented a demonstration to the Winslow City Council last week. In the presentation, Coolidge explained the features on the city’s new official website.
The site, www.winslowaz.gov, is active now and features colorful photos of Winslow landmarks and activities. It also features user-friendly drop-down menus that help navigate visitors through the site. New to the site are fillable forms in various departments. For example, visitors were previously required to download and print permits to build or vend at city events. Those forms are now available to be signed and submitted online.
Another new feature of the website is the E-Notify page. Coolidge said, “Click on the link at the top of the page titled ‘How Do I,’ then click on ‘Stay Notified.’ From there, you will be able to input your information, an email address and phone number and select categories that you would like to receive updates from. For example, if you would like to know when there is a new employment opportunity posted on the website, it will send you a text message or an email.”
Visitors to the site can also sign up to receive text or email alerts about city projects and happenings including events and road closures or maintenance.
Coolidge added, “There is also a place on the website to pay your utility bills or donate to city programs such as the library. He explained that updating the website was an important step in bringing the city’s communication with its residents up to date. “With this, we are going to be able to make a move in a positive direction as far as the social media aspect. Our Facebook will automatically be populated with information that we put on the website so that is part of the program, and the next step.”
