Governor Doug Ducey has appointed Navajo County District II Supervisor Jesse Thompson to the State Transportation Board, with members of the Arizona State Senate confirming his appointment during a hearing on March 7. Chairman Thompson shared in the hearing, “I am a lifelong Arizonan who has spent the last 24 years serving the people of Navajo County and our region. “Through all my years of service, transportation has always been one of my highest priorities. I believe in the value and importance of a quality transportation system for commerce, getting our kids to school and quality of life.” The Senate Transportation Committee unanimously recommended confirmation of Chairman Thompson’s nomination during a hearing on Feb. 28 before the appointment went in front of the full Senate on March 6. With the confirmation process complete, Chairman Thompson will begin representing Apache, Coconino and Navajo counties on the State Transportation Board until Jan. 16, 2023.
