Catherine Ann (Nelson) Neal, 58, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, in Phoenix. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the First Baptist Church in Winslow. Cathie was born to Eva Mae and James G. Nelson in April 1958, the oldest of three girls. She attended school in Winslow and graduated in 1976. In 1977 she married Randy Neal, and they had three children and six grandchildren. Her family was always her top priority, and her pride and joy. Cathie lived for her grandbabies. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Winslow and was baptized in 1967. Survivors include Randy and her children, Jayme, Chase and Cameron; her grandchildren, Emily, Jon, Feighdemm Reign, Geighe and Kierstyn; her mother, Eva Nelson; her two sisters, Diane (Mont) Garner and Jolene Nelson (Rusty Efaw); two nieces, Andrea (Spencer) Leask and Brandy Jo Winchester; a nephew, Nathan (Tiffany) Garner; and her BFF, Judie Wimberley. She was preceded in death by her father, James G. Nelson; her grandparents, Carl and Catherine Brown of Winslow, and Owen and Millie Nelson of Batesville, Ark.; and her infant granddaughter, Keighlyanna, who died at birth.
