On April 19, the Winslow Bulldogs honored their graduating senior players Tegan Chacon, Alejandro Gomez-Ortiz, Keaton Kisslingbury, Parker Stubblefield, Adrian Torres and Kane Ybarra, and manager Samantha Lacher in the final home game of the season facing the Payson Longhorns.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Bulldogs would get on the board first scoring five runs. Beginning with Chris Caldera getting an RBI single. Brendan Knight would score but it would involve a discussion at the plate due to a base runner being hit with a batted ball as he was heading to home plate. Chacon had a two RBI single, followed by Alejandro Guzman RBI double.
In the top of the third inning the Longhorns would score three runs. Starting with Dexter Waterman scoring on a wild pitch then Tyler Wilson and Zach Young each had an RBI single.
In the top of the fourth inning the Longhorns would tie the game with two more runs. Waterman would have an RBI triple and then score himself on a passed ball.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Bulldogs would retake the lead scoring three runs. Starting with Torres scoring on a passed ball then Ybarra scoring on a wild pitch and lastly Chacon would score on a sacrifice.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Bulldog Ybarra would bring in the final run of the game with his RBI double for a final score of Winslow 9, Payson 5.
On April 20, the Bulldogs traveled to Show Low to face the Cougars in their final regular season game.
In the top of the first inning Bulldog baserunner Torres would score on a sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the first inning Cougar Easton Hatch would score on a fielder’s choice to tie the game.
In the top of the second the Bulldogs would retake the lead, scoring three runs. Starting with Kisslingbury scoring on a passed ball. Jace Smith had an RBI single and then Justus Martin also had an RBI single.
In the top of the third, the Bulldogs would tack on two more runs with Chacon getting an RBI single then scoring on himself on a fielder’s choice.
In the bottom of the third, the Cougars would narrow the lead scoring a run on a Logan Forney RBI single.
In the top of the fourth inning the Bulldogs would widen their lead, scoring three runs; Stubblefield with an RBI single and Chacon with a two RBI single.
In the bottom of the fourth the Cougars would add a run with a Tyson Threadgill RBI single.
In the top of the sixth Bulldog Torres would add a run by stealing home.
In the bottom of the sixth the Cougars would add two runs with a Preston Power two RBI double.
In the top of the seventh inning the Bulldogs would get their final run of the game on a Smith RBI single.
In the bottom of the seventh the Cougars would score the final two runs of the game on a Threadgill two RBI single for a final score Winslow 11 Show Low 7.
