Assistant Navajo County Manager Bryan Layton will be taking on the role of acting county manager following the resignation of Jimmy Jayne, who will be moving on to a position with Coconino County in August.
Layton joined Navajo County in January 2016. Prior to that, he worked for the City of San Antonio, Texas, for nearly 10 years, where he developed and led the city’s nationally recognized Office of Innovation. According to information provided by the county, Layton and his team implemented Lean Process Improvement Methodology, provided budget and policy analysis of business processes, and saved the City of San Antonio more than $20 million while increasing service levels.
Layton is a native of Tempe and attended Mesa Community College before receiving a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Brigham Young University.
He and his wife, Natalie, and their two children live in the White Mountains.
