Editor:

I would like to extend the greatest of thanks on the part of our Glorious Tumbleweed, which made its second annual appearance this New Year’s Eve. We had a wonderful turnout, despite frigid temperatures and light sprinklings of rain.

The Glorious Tumbleweed would like to extend special gratitude to Ron Eisele, our officiator of the drop, Cindy and Randy of the Elks Lodge for saving us at the 11th hour with their heaters, the City of Holbrook and Navajo County Historical Society for their continuous help and guidance, The Morsels band for filling our night with joy and song, and Mayor Kathleen Smith for being ready at a moment’s notice to serve as announcer. And of course, the grandest outpouring of gratitude to our Tumbleweed Queen, Davie Maxwell and her grandmother Colletta Keesee, who without them the magic of the Tumbleweed Drop wouldn’t have sparkled half as brightly. And thank you as well, Editor (Linda Kor), because as always you were behind the scenes doing more work than anyone.

Thank you all for believing in a little bit of fun and magic to start the New Year off with a tumbleweed.
