By Greg Perkins The Lady Wildcats have won just one game since returning to softball action following their spring break. Their power point record stands at just 2-9, yet if they can win the majority of their remaining contests they still have an opportunity to reach the postseason. Their last win was on March 2 when they took the first game of a doubleheader from Holbrook, winning it 12-8. Since that win they fell in the second game 23-12, then lost three straight to Blue Ridge, 19-5, St. Johns, 13-3, and Winslow, 17-1. They opened this week with a doubleheader game against Northland Prep on Monday in Flagstaff. On Thursday, April 18, they are slated to host top ranked Winslow. Next Monday they begin a busy final week of the season. After playing Mogollon on Monday at Heber, they will host the Mustangs the following day. On Wednesday they are scheduled to play at Valley Sanders in a doubleheader contest. If they can finish the season ranked inside the top 24 in the power point standings they will advance to the state playoffs.
