A German film crew under the direction of Karl Teuschl was in Holbrook May 2 filming the second portion of a documentary on the sites along historic Route 66. The film will be broadcast on Saarländischer Rundfunk, a national public television network, throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland following the Christmas holiday. Teuschl and his crew traveled the eastern portions of Route 66 last year, and this year will finish with New Mexico, Arizona and California. “These are the states that will get the most coverage, because the route is still so prominent here,” said Teuschl. The crew filmed these dancers from Holbrook and Teesto including (left to right) Garnet Begay, Elena Martinez, Chenoa Nelson, Serena Sangster, Francisco Ochoa, Estrella Torres and Shaudeen Shorty at Holbrook’s Historic Navajo County Courthouse, and they will be the only Native dancers depicted in the documentary.
