Snowflake’s Lady Lobos won both volleyball matches they played at home last week, improving their overall non-tournament record to 9-1 in critical power point contests.

On Tuesday the Lady Lobos played host to Alchesay and cruised to a win in three straight games. Snowflake won the first game 25-8 and kept that momentum rolling throughout the match, winning the second and third games 25-12.

Every team member contributed in the easy win. Stephanie Binnie had an assist. Brett Brewer finished with an ace, a block and an assist. Vanessa Chee had three kills and served one ace. Tandis Yellowhair added four kills and a block. Natalie Elkins helped with 14 assists and served an ace. Devrie Woodside added five kills and served an ace. Vanessa Fox had three kills and an ace. Caitlin Despain helped with six kills. Lisha Titus added three kills and a block. Brilee Copelan finished with three kills, an ace and an assist. Alexa Jones had four kills and served three aces.

On Thursday the Lady Lobos took four games to dispatch visiting Winslow. Snowflake won the first game 25-19, then dropped the second one, 25-17. That loss must have refocused the Lady Lobos, because they came out and dominated the final two games 25-6 and 25-8 to win the match.

Brewer finished with three kills and a block. Chee added two kills, an ace and three blocks. Yellowhair had eight kills and a block. Elkins again played well with six kills, an ace and 21 assists. Woodside served well with seven aces. Fox added three kills and four blocks. Despain finished with a kill and a block. Titus added six kills and a block. Jones had a kill. Shelly Larsen played well all around with six kills, four blocks and 12 assists.

After playing at Show Low on Tuesday, the Lady Lobos will host Round Valley tonight (Oct. 5). This weekend they will be in the Valley to compete in the Goldwater Tournament.
