The new fencing, which will also surround the skate park and basketball courts, will discourage bicyclists from throwing their bikes over the fence and riding in the skate park. According to Holbrook City Manager Ray Alley, child safety advocates warn against mixing bicycles and skateboards in recreation areas. “The new fences will create a safer environment for kids in the skate park,” said Alley. With the new fencing, there will now be four tennis courts. Alley said once the fences are installed, the aged basketball courts will be resurfaced to provide a level, safer playing surface.
