The Lady Lobos advanced to the semifinal round of the state softball playoffs, where their season came to a close with a hard fought, 6-5 loss to eventual champion Estrella Foothills.
Third seeded Snowflake held the lead midway through the game, but in the fourth inning the second ranked Lady Wolves took advantage of some Lady Lobo mistakes and gained the lead for good.
Trailing by three runs heading into the seventh Snowflake rallied, scoring twice, but that was as close as the Lady Lobos would get.
Throughout the 3A softball tournament the highest ranked team won every game in the bracket until the final, where No. 2 Estrella was able to get past top ranked Winslow.
Snowflake ended the season with an overall record of 25-8.
