The Wildcats of Joseph City picked up two wins in three games last week, suffering a tough loss at Round Valley on Wednesday, then sweeping a doubleheader from Ash Fork on Friday.
The Cats played well through the first 5½ innings against Round Valley’s Elks, holding a 6-5 lead going into the home half of the sixth frame, but that’s where the bottom fell out for them. The Joseph City squad committed six errors in the sixth inning alone, giving up eight unearned runs to the Elks and consequently dropped the game 13-6.
Remington Baldwin went two for four with an RBI and scored twice. Brandon Massey was one for four with two RBIs.
“Colton Spurlock pitched a solid game for us, but we hurt ourselves fielding the ball,” said Coach Eric Miller.
