Steven “Steve” Egbert, 60, of Holbrook, Arizona passed away peacefully on Oct. 6. 2026.
He was born in Winslow, on Dec. 6, 1965, to Diane Decker (née DeWitt) and Sam Egbert.
Steve will be remembered as a loving son, father, husband, brother, uncle and friend to all. Steve lived a life of service. As a teenager, he began working as a lifeguard. That desire to protect continued throughout his life. In 1987 Steve joined the Air Force, where he served as a firefighter until 1995. His service took him first to Oklahoma, then to England. He also did a tour of duty in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. After his military service, he lived in many places, including Montana, Oregon and finally Idaho, where he met his wife, Peggy. In 2018 he and Peggy returned home to Holbrook to be closer to family.
Steve is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Deanna (Chris), Stephanee (Jason), Kortney (Dustin), Shianne (Danny) and Amber; grandchildren, Olaf “Wendall,” Jaisann, Jentyn, Colby, Jackson, McKenna, Brantley and Taylor; father, Sam (Patty); sisters, Pam and Marissa (Erik); brothers, Tim, Tom (Wendy) and Toby (Keri); and several nieces and nephews.
