Graveside service for Gilbert Manygoats, 84, who died on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, were held Aug. 28, at the Indian Wells Cemetery. Mr. Manygoats was born in Indian Wells on the Navajo Nation to the Bitterwater Clan for the Honey Combed Rock People. He was born May 21, 1942, to the late Joseph Manygoats and Mary Ann John.
He worked as a construction worker and with the Navajo Nation Headstart where he retired as a bus driver. He was a pastor who dedicated a life of service for God. He was also a talented silversmith.
He was a father to five children, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He had five sisters and three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Manygoats.
