The Lobos will remain inside the top 10 in the 3A rankings after cruising through all three games played last week. They took care of Alchesay, twice, then handled Winslow in five innings on Friday.

Tuesday, they hosted the Falcons and had to go nine innings before winning 11-2. The Falcons scored single runs in the first and third frames to avoid the 10-run rule.

At the plate, Graham Bawden went 2 for 4, Kasen Rogers 2 for 3 with a double, Maverick Greer was 1 for 4 with a double, Jaxon Merrill was 2 for 4 with a double, Kyle Matthews was 1 for 3, Daxon Wahl was 2 for 3 and Tate Matthews was 3 for 4 with a double.

Curtis Hollom pitched 3.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts and walked 3. Merrill pitched 3.2 innings not allowing a run and only 3 hits with 6 strikeouts.

Thursday, the same two clubs met up again this time in Alchesay. The Falcons avoided a mercy rule game the first time, but thanks to nine runs in the top of the sixth by Snowflake in Thursday’s game, the Lobos shut them down early with a 17-1 final score.

Rogers went 1 for 2 with a double, Ryker Skousen was 2 for 4 with a double, and Tate Matthews went 2 for 4 with a double. Edge Bryant was 3 for 5; Tai Bawden, 1 for 2; Greer, 2 for 4; Merrill, 1 for 3; Julian Barrera, 2 for 3; and Wahl, 2 for 5.

Kyler Matthews did all the work on the hill for the six innings. He allowed just 1 run on 2 hits with 12 strikeouts and walked only 1.

Playing at Winslow on Friday Snowflake started well with 4 in the first, 3 in the second and 7 runs in the third to put the game out of reach early. Winslow did manage 5 runs, but the game ended in five innings with the Lobos on top 18-5.

Wahl went 2 for 4 with a triple. Kyler Matthews was 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles. Greer was 3 for 4 with one double. Bawden went 2 for 4; Bryant, 1 for 4; Merrill, 1 for 2; Barrera, 1 for 3; and Tate Matthews went 1 for 4.

Dylan Kirkendall pitched four innings allowing 5 runs on 4 hits with 4 strikeouts and walked 1. Merrill pitched one inning of hitless baseball with 3 strikeouts.

Snowflake entered Friday’s game ranked 10th in the 3A rankings. They have three regular season games remaining. Tuesday they will host Holbrook, then on Saturday they will travel to take on 15th ranked Kingman. Their final game will be on Monday when they travel to Holbrook. If they can climb into the top eight in the final rankings, they will avoid the 3A play-in games. If not, they will be hosting a play-in game on April 29.

Snowflake is 10-4 in regular season games heading into their final three contests.
