Snowflake’s baseball team played once during their spring break last week, picking up a non-conference road win at Pima on Friday afternoon.

Neither team scored in the first two innings, and the Lobos finally broke the ice with 2 runs in the top of the second. They extended their lead to 3 with another lone run in the fourth. Pima cut into that margin with 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth frame, however, that would be the only two runs they would get against Snowflake’s pitching.

The Lobos added 2 more in the fifth, and 1 each in the sixth and seventh innings resulting in a 7-2 road win.

Curtis Hollom was in control on the hill. He worked all seven innings, giving up the 2 runs on 7 hits with a respectable 12 strikeouts, and just 1 walk. At the plate he helped himself going 2 for 3.

Tate Matthews went 2 for 4 with a double, and 2 RBI. Edge Bryant was 2 for 3; Graham Bawden, 1 for 4; Kasen Rogers, 1 for 3; Kyler Matthews, 1 for 5; and Jaxon Merrill went 1 for 4.

With the win the Lobos improved their early season record to 3-2-1. They are now 2-1 in regular season play.

Now that Spring break is over their schedule will pick up. The team hosts Page on Tuesday, then plays at St. Johns on Thursday. Saturday will be a trip to Chinle. Next Tuesday they open east region play with a home tilt vs Show Low.
