Holbrook’s winless streak extended through last week with two more check marks in the loss column. The team is playing a little more competitively with each game; they just haven’t yet put together a regular season win.
Playing in Show Low on Tuesday last week, they fell in three straight games to a highly improved Lady Cougar team. Holbrook hosted Joseph City on Saturday afternoon and they looked good throughout the match. Holbrook won the first game 15-25, then competed hard despite losing the next three games: 21-25, 20-25 and 17-25 to what is a solid Wildcat team.
This week, Holbrook will host St. Johns on Tuesday, then travel to take on powerful Snowflake on Wednesday. Saturday afternoon, Monument Valley from the 3A north, comes to Munoz Gym for a 2 p.m. varsity start time. Next Tuesday, Holbrook will host Alchesay.
Holbrook is 0-8 heading into this week’s action.
