The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce it has become the first sheriff’s office in the State of Arizona to achieve accreditation through the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP), a program administered by the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP).
This historic achievement reflects the agency’s commitment to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and public service. The ALEAP accreditation process involves a comprehensive evaluation of an agency’s policies, procedures, operations, and training to ensure compliance with industry best practices and ethical policing standards.
“This milestone demonstrates our dedication to transparency, ethical policing and continuous improvement,” said Sheriff David Clouse. “We are honored to lead the way for sheriff’s offices across Arizona and remain committed to strengthening trust with the communities we serve.”
The accreditation process is voluntary and rigorous, emphasizing continuous organizational development and accountability. Achieving this status places the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office among a distinguished group of agencies that prioritize excellence in law enforcement.
This accomplishment was made possible through the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of the men and women of the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office.
