The Holbrook Police Department is investigating a number of unusual vehicle burglaries that occurred in the city last week. At approximately 5:49 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, an officer responded to the 200 block of East Iowa Street for a report of two vehicles, a silver 2016 Ford Taurus and a blue 2022 Ford Explorer, that had been gone through and items removed from the vehicle and left on the pavement, although nothing appeared to have been stolen. The owner of the vehicles, Theresa Logg, reported that while one of the vehicles had been unlocked, the other hadn’t. Logg believed that perhaps a vehicle key fob may have been taken.
While at the call, the officer was informed of two other vehicles that had been burglarized in a similar manner. One was a white 2017 Subaru Crosstrek owned by Damien Johnson. He noted that his belongings had been rifled through, but nothing was missing. He also said the vehicle had been locked. The fourth vehicle was a silver 2013 Hyundai Sonata that was discovered with both passenger side doors ajar. The owner of the vehicle, Chasity Johnson, said that she believed a bottle of lotion and a $10 bill were missing, but her purse and a wad of $1 bills were left behind. The investigation remains ongoing.
