Motocross enthusiasts across the region have a new destination to train, race and enjoy the sport as Daniel and Hailee Hutchins of Joseph City celebrated the grand opening of Rutz MX, a professionally designed motocross facility just outside of Holbrook.
Located off Highway 377 next to the Navajo County Public Works building in Holbrook, Rutz MX offers a full range of tracks designed to challenge riders of all experience levels. The facility features three courses: a beginner track for those new to the sport, an intermediate track for developing riders and a professional-level course built to host competitive events.
The Hutchins have spent months preparing the facility, aiming to provide a much-needed space for motocross riders in the region. Rutz MX is already set to welcome its first major event over Memorial Day weekend, when AZ Dirt Bike Training will hold a two-day training camp on May 24 and 25.
The opening of the facility is poised to bring visitors from across Northern Arizona and the entire state, providing a new recreation option in a cooler climate. With temperatures in Holbrook often much lower than those in the Valley, Rutz MX offers an appealing alternative for riders looking to continue training and racing without the extreme heat.
The potential impact extends beyond the motocross community, with new visitors expected to help spur economic activity in Holbrook through hotel stays, restaurant visits, and other local spending. By offering a high-quality, easily accessible facility for riders and their families, Rutz MX adds a valuable new attraction to Navajo County and strengthens Holbrook’s role as a hub for outdoor recreation.
Day passes are priced at $35 for adult riders and $25 for children, with free admission for all non-riders, making it an affordable option for families looking for a day of excitement and competition. This new course is sure to help grow the sport locally and offer a professional venue for riders to hone their skills, Rutz MX is already positioning itself as an important asset not just for the community, but for the entire state.
