The Lady Wildcats improved their regular season mark to 9-1 with three more victories last week. None of the three final outcomes were close as the Wildcats are playing well at the moment.
Tuesday, they crushed visiting Sedona 78-14. The first eight minutes saw the Cats score 32 points and surrender only 6, which set the tone for the rest of the game. Joseph City led 74-12 after three periods before shutting things down in the final frame.
Audrey Neill led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Amber Neill added 21, Gabby Jesmer 8, Kaci Palmer 4, Raylee Fish 2, April Neill 2, and Tori Beatty finished with 2.
Playing at Valley Sanders on Thursday Joseph City prevailed in what is typically a tough place to play. The Lady Cats defeated Sanders 56-29.
Saturday the Wildcats traveled to Peach Springs to face the Music Mountain Lady Warriors. The long trip didn’t faze Joseph City’s defense as they pitched a shutout over the first two-quarters of the game and led 42-0 at halftime. They padded that lead in the second half winning the game 60-10 over the overmatched Warriors.
With the three wins Joseph City improved their overall record to 15-4. This week they will host Mayer on Tuesday, travel to Williams on Thursday, and then host Seligman on Friday night. Next Tuesday they travel to face rival Mogollon in Heber. The toughest team left on their schedule is probably Fort Thomas which they will host on January 31st. They could easily remain unbeaten until that game, although Mogollon is a rivalry game that can always be tough.
