The Lady Wildcats are headed into the holiday break on the heels of an impressive 44-37 road win at St. Johns. The Redskins are a solid 2A team this year, but Joseph City has talent as well which showed up in a physical battle on Friday night.
Joseph City led an evenly played first period 12-10. In the second they pushed that margin to a double-digit lead at 27-16. St. Johns battled back in the third, outscoring the Lady Cats by 10 making it a 1-point game going into the final eight minutes. In the fourth, Joseph City netted 14 and held the Redskins to just 8 to win the game by 7 points.
With that win the Lady Wildcats head into the holiday break with a regular season record of 4-1. They are now 10-4 overall and 1-0 in region play.
The team will resume action on Jan. 3, with a trip to Ash Fork. The following day they will host Hopi.
