Little Colorado Medical Center (LCMC) hosted the recent Good Morning Winslow, a monthly business networking event organized by the Winslow Chamber of Commerce. The event featured Travis Udall, the CEO of LCMC, who shared updates and his vision for the medical center’s future.

Udall emphasized the hospital’s ongoing investments aimed at improving healthcare services in the community, particularly for cancer patients. One of his primary focuses is ensuring that those needing chemotherapy can receive treatment locally, eliminating the need for long-distance travel. He also highlighted that while LCMC currently operates a mobile MRI unit that comes a couple days a month, they are committed to investing in a permanent MRI machine. Udall said that is something that should be coming to the hospital in 2025.

In addition to bolstering more convenient cancer treatment, LCMC is set to open a pain management clinic, catering to the growing need for specialized pain care in Winslow and its surrounding areas. Udall said that this is one of the things requested when he spoke to patients. Another notable addition will be a retail pharmacy within the hospital, designed to make medication access more convenient for patients.

Beyond healthcare advancements, Udall expressed his dedication to fostering partnerships with local schools, city officials, and other healthcare providers. His goal is to create a network that collectively improves patient care and community health outcomes. “Building trust within the community is my number one priority,” Udall stated. True to this commitment, he mentioned his personal cell phone number is listed on the LCMC website, ensuring patients and community members can reach out to him directly with questions or concerns.

LCMC has also made strides in enhancing patient convenience by introducing new website features for online bill payments, a step that Udall hopes will make the payment side of things simpler and more convenient for patients.

The event concluded with remarks from Bob Hall, CEO of the Winslow Chamber of Commerce, who reminded attendees to submit their applications for the upcoming Christmas Parade. The final date for entries is Tuesday, Nov. 19, with the parade set to take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. Before the parade, Santa Claus will make an appearance handing out goodie bags to attendees from 9-11:30 a.m. at the chamber, located at 523 W. Second St. Hall also noted that there would be no December Good Morning Winslow event due to the annual Festival of the Trees.
