N6F Winslow prison incident

Last Wednesday, Oct. 30, an altercation occurred between inmates at the Arizona State Prison Complex in Winslow. The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) confirmed that while there were injuries, none were life-threatening. However, ADCRR has not confirmed whether officer injuries were among those reported, how many injuries there were total or what lead up to the event.

The situation, which ADCRR says stemmed from a disagreement among inmates, was brought under control and is currently under investigation. It was reported that at no point was the public at risk, as no inmates attempted to escape. The ADCRR did not comment on the specifics or the extent of the situation that took place. Winslow Police Department and other law enforcement agencies were on the scene for at least a few hours. Warden Stephen Morris has not replied to inquiries by press time.

Some residents of Winslow said that they received a notification on their phone that told them seven inmates had escaped the prison, which caused people to panic.
