On Thursday, Oct 3, students at Park and Hulet elementary schools in Holbrook participated in a fire prevention assembly where students learned about fire safety from Holbrook Volunteer Firefighter Jacob Baker. Students also saw their principal, Nichole Tow suit up in firefighting gear, watched as some of their teachers competed to see who could use the fire hoses to spray down water bottles first, and a have their picture taken with the fire truck. The visit even included a visit from the students’ favorite Sparky the Dog. It was a fun event and taught the students some very important things about fire safety!

Students from Mrs. Begay’s kindergarten class also got the opportunity to take a picture with a fire truck.
